# Reset User HWID

> Reset the HWID linked to a key.

## Endpoint

`POST https://api.luarmor.net/v3/projects/{project_id}/users/resethwid`

## Path parameters

| `user_key` | string | Yes | Key to reset the HWID of |
| `force` | boolean | No | If `true`, the reset ignores the HWID reset cooldown and works even if HWID resets are disabled for the project. |

## Success response

`200`: the HWID was reset.

## Error responses

| Status | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `400` | Bad request. See the reasons below. |
| `404` | Key or project not found |

There are a few reasons you might get a `400`:

* **The user reset their HWID too recently (cooldown).** Set `"force": true` to bypass the cooldown.
* **HWID resets are disabled for this project.** Set `"force": true` to reset it anyway.
* **The user is banned.** Unban them first.
